Document review · free · no login

Compare two pasted texts, line by line.

Paste original and revised plain text to prepare a review showing added, removed and unchanged lines. Copy the review or download a local HTML file.

If your documents are accessible to Google Docs, its native Tools → Compare documents creates a third document with differences shown as suggested edits and may be a useful alternative. It also supports Drive-stored .docx files directly. This tool has no Google account or document access.

Your pasted text, title and result stay in this browser until you copy or download them. Usage events contain fixed labels only, never your document content. No uploaded or saved document records.

1. Paste both versions

Comparison uses exact whole lines. Only CRLF line endings are normalized to LF; spaces, tabs, blank lines and other whitespace are meaningful. A changed line appears as a removal and an addition. This does not compare formatting, images or comments, create tracked changes, merge documents or review meaning.

Limits: 20,000 UTF-16 code units and 200 lines per version, counting an empty final line; title 120 UTF-16 code units. Invalid input is rejected in full. Paste only the plain text you intend to compare.

Own input mode. All fields start empty.

3. Check and share manually

Check the review against both source documents, including any content omitted while copying. Exact line comparison cannot establish correctness, completeness, intent or legal meaning. Line moves and repeated lines can produce removals and additions that need your interpretation.

Copy the review into your own document, or open the downloaded HTML locally. Check the pasted layout or print preview, then share it yourself with appropriate permissions. This tool does not update either source document or share files for you.
